I make an assessment as to whether the vessel may be in trouble or not.
I consider a lot of factors when making this assessment including whether the vessel is single handed, weather conditions at the time and predicted for the next 24 hours, and data included in the previous daily welfare report.
If the vessel is fiited with a satellite tracker and it indicates progress as expected, it is unlikely I will take any action.
If I suspect the vessel may be in difficulty or will be soon, then I will contact the Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC) for the Search & Rescue Region (SRR) being transited, advising there has been a missed daily welfare report.
I provide RCC with the float plan opened on departure. RCC will decide what action (if any) to take next.
